Description

Large Shinshinto Katana by 'Munemichi' (宗道).

A stunning and very large Shinshinto Katana by 'Munemichi'. The blade is beautifully mounted in high quality Handachi mountings. This is an ideal sword for and advanced collector or practioner that wants a very large and powerful Nihon-To. Munemichi was from Omi province and worked at the Echizen school and is 6th Generation (1848-1854) - Kaei period made (Sesko, 2010: 215). Nagasa: 74 cm. Overall: 108 cm

The sword has a slight abrasion to the mune of this sword, usual for a 'real' sword that has been genuinely used by a swordsman and this does not detract from the swords quality, use or collectability. You rarely find a Katana of such proportions that would suit a 6ft+ swordsman.
