Ref: XXX - A Fabulous Shinto Period (1597-1780) Fully Mounted Katana.

Description

A superb Shinto period (1597-1780) Katana in a beautiful Koshirae and full polish - simply stunning. Goto work Fuchi/ Kashira and Menuki all en-suite and excellent quality. The saya is beautiful too and super quality. Yakiba is Notare with a lot of activity in both the Ji and Hamon. Boshi and Kissaki are strong and the whole Nihon-To is both powerful and impressive. 

The Katana is signed 'Kanemitsu' (兼光) and was working in the Kanbun period between 1661-1673. Kanemitsu was a Tosho working in th Mino-Den tradition and was from the Toku'in school (Sesko, 2015: 229).
